Sometimes it falls upon a generation to be great. You be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom. Of course the task will not be easy. But not to do this would be a crime against humanity, against which I ask all humanity now to rise up.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER OF AURIGA
Hi my name is Don Northcott and I am a passionate advocate for creating a better civilization. My life’s passion has been teaching and enlightening and now at the age of 83, I still pursue this with great enthusiasm.
This website is my way of trying to share with the world on what has been a personal passion for me – challenging mainstream systems and redesigning them so that we improve civilization’s progression and not hinder it. I personally have been part of micro communities over the years that are experimenting with and adopting new economic systems. I have thus learnt a great deal about what works and what doesn’t.
What these lessons have confirmed is that our interest and debt driven economic system is fragile and as the worlds markets are now so deeply connected, a minor ripple in one country can send another country into despair. The recent 2008 Global Financial Crisis was insight for me into what is still to come since the same structural system that led to that crisis remains largely unchanged.
Our current economic system is causing more social issues rather than solving them. It is well known that education is the answer to many of the world’s problems but starting off their careers with a mountain of student debts to pay is ludicrous. Education should be a free human right. Another great concern of mine is how the wealth divide between the rich and the poor continues to widen. This is unacceptable to me and should not be acceptable to anyone.
The Auriga website has been designed with 4 objectives in mind:
Increase awareness of world economic issues
Providing links to economic thought leaders
Provide resources for students and lecturers to promote new thinking
Facilitate connecting people with micro communities trialing new economic ways of life
I really encourage you to post your thoughts and opinions on the Auriga “Have your say” page. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Yours sincerely, Don Northcott
To enlighten and inspire current and future generations to challenge and change the current economic systems and design a new sustainable system that progresses civilisation rather than hinders it.
